Any organisation from any sector can apply to run an event during Life Sciences Week (21st – 25th September 2026), but the event should have a focus on Life Sciences (or a sub sector of Life Sciences such as those below) and should be hosted in the United Kingdom

It’s totally free to host an event during Life Sciences Week, but you may need to consider costs of venue hire, marketing or refreshments.

We have support mechanisms available to help you in hosting your event, that could incur costs (see: https://lifesciencesweek.co.uk/packages/ ), but to organise your own event and have it included on the Life Sciences Week website and event listings has no charge; we are encouraging involvement, not creating barriers. The majority of events will be free to attend, at the discretion of the event host. We will provide any charge information on our events page if the event organiser provides any.
Unless stated on the event booking page, events are open to all to attend; the purpose of Life Sciences Week is to encourage conversations, progress, insights, teachings, collaborations so the majority of events will be on a first come first served basis – so book now!

We encourage a range of events with consideration for what you’re trying to achieve and who will be most interested in your event; from key note talks, workshops, networking sessions, panels, fireside chats/interviews, presentations, exhibitions, challenge events, debates to combinations of any of these or otherwise within your event.

    Bio

    Amy Deakin is a Birmingham-based leader specialising in building partnerships and fostering innovation in the life sciences sector. With a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Amy brings a grounded understanding of human health and performance to her work and a strong interest in the developments shaping healthcare today.

    Amy is Managing Director of Life Sciences Week, part of the One Thousand Trades Group, and also serves as Director of One Thousand Trades Events. In these roles, she convenes researchers, clinicians and industry leaders to strengthen collaboration, unlock new partnerships and help accelerate real-world innovation across the life sciences ecosystem.

    Her career spans both commercial and third-sector environments. She began in automotive design, delivering projects for Volkswagen, McLaren, Bentley and Jaguar Land Rover, before moving into the third sector with Acorns Children’s Hospice. She later joined Western Union, working as a Partnerships Manager for international payments

    An avid netballer, Amy is a committed advocate for health and wellbeing – bringing energy, clarity and connection to everything she builds, and actively involved as a participant in health related research studies.
